Educational Technolgy

Educational technology is no longer insulated from computer and mobile technology. The integration of technology in education is no longer a "new" idea. The use of computer technology has moved beyond computer assisted instruction in the form of tutorials or drill and practice, today it reached in fields like medical technology, business technology, green technology etc. . Computers are assisted with the projectors, speakers and lot more smart-things in the innovative world. Today's technology can provide teachers and students with opportunities for teaching and learning that were impossible in the past. Computers can be used as devices for communicating with people literally a world apart. They can be used as tools to create instructional materials or as presentation devices to provide information in ways never before possible.

Educational Technology relies on a broad definition of the word "technology." Technology can refer to material objects of use to humanity, such as machines or hardware, but it can also encompass broader themes, including systems, methods of organization, and techniques. Some modern tools include but are not limited to overhead projectors, laptop computers, and calculators. Newer tools such as smartphones and games (both online and offline) are beginning to draw serious attention for their learning potential.
